    Handling Critics




    In your day to day life you face numerous people. Few people love you and few may hate you. Someone hates you knowing this fact and you feel bad, but you can improve yourself by inputs of person. Firstly let us know the meaning of Critics and Criticism, Then how to deal with these.

    Critics:
    ·         A person who expresses an unfavorable opinion of something.
    ·         A person who judges the merits of literary or artistic works, especially one who does so professionally.
    Synonyms:
    Censurer, Detractor, attacker, fault-finder, carper, backbiter, reviler, traducer, disparager, belittler, more informal knocker, nitpicker;
                 
    Criticism:
    ·         The expression of disapproval of someone or something on the basis of perceived faults or mistakes.
    ·         The analysis and judgment of the merits and faults of a literary or artistic work.
    Synonyms: Evaluation, assessment, examination, appreciation, appraisal, analysis, judgment.

    Criticism is the act of analyzing or evaluating based on propriety and knowledge. Unfortunately, criticism is often delivered when someone perceives that we have failed them, not meeting their expectations. Then we face words spoken out of disappointment, frustration, envy, anger. And we start responding in the same manner-with sarcasm, anger, defensiveness.  A healthy, respectful relationship is not possible, when two people communicate with each other in this fashion. Since, it is important to understand how to deal with criticism within our relationships-whether they are casual, intimate, work related.

    Criticism can be Constructive and Destructive:

    Destructive criticism, This kind of criticism can hurt your pride and have negative effects on your confidence and self-esteem.  This is just because of thoughtlessness by other person, but it can also be deliberately hurtful and malicious.  This can lead to anger and/or aggression.

    Constructive criticism, Unlike Destructive criticism, this will point out your mistakes, but also showing you how and where improvements can be made. This should be viewed as useful feedback that can help you improve yourself rather than put you down.
    When criticism is constructive it is usually easier to accept, even if it still hurts a little.  Always try to remember that you can use this criticism to your advantage.




    How to deal with Critics & Criticism:

    ·         React politely and friendly. Never let your temper get the better of you. Don't feed the troll.
    ·         Keep up the good work. It's easy to hate the haters. The high road is what separates the adults from the trolls.

    ·         Listen carefully, what a critic is saying

    ·         Don’t expose yourself to criticism from people you don’t respect.

    ·         Admit your mistakes.

    ·         Sometimes enjoy fun of failure.

    ·         You can ask open-ended questions

    ·         Stop feeling mistakes as entirely bad because A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful.

    ·         Starts taking the Positives out of Criticism

    ·         Always try to be Calm

    ·         Keep in mind the Value of the Critics and the Source.

    ·         You Might Be Wrong Acknowledging it.

    ·         Try to respond with Grace. 

    “We all learn by making mistakes and learning how to deal with criticism positively is one way that we can improve our interpersonal relationships with others”.

    “Apply adult Mindset against criticism try to figure out Constructive and destructive criticism. Appreciate the Constructive, ignore the destructive”
